According to Jay Junkoon, JHI property management director (Africa), it is the largest property portfolio ever secured by a South African Property Company.

“Following six months of detailed submissions, stringent requirements and intense negotiations, JHI were awarded the 5-year contract on 19th July 2001”, he says”.

He adds it was a great achievement for JHI, however, the challenge continues for JHI staff involved in managing this portfolio as they have to become au fait with the laws and business structures of Lesotho. Currently two JHI staff members are operational in the LNDC’s offices. They are sourcing additional local staff and will train them, ensuring that the transfer of appropriate skills to the local community continues to take place at all times.
