His appointment follows Rebosis’ successful acquisition of Ascension in terms of a scheme of arrangement whereby Ascension is now a listed subsidiary of Rebosis. Rebosis effectively holds approximately 59% of the entire issued share capital of Ascension.

Sisa Ngebulana, CEO of Rebosis, said: “We are pleased to announce Kameel’s appointment as the new CEO of Ascension. He is ideally suited in managing Ascension as a subsidiary of Rebosis after playing an integral role in the acquisition and having an intimate knowledge of the assets. Rebosis, through its asset manager Billion Asset Management, has been very hands-on in the management of the Ascension portfolio since the acquisition and we are excited about the continued effort to unlock value.

“We are looking at growing the assets of Ascension in supporting the Group’s strategy of investing in high-grade, high-value assets located in strategic nodes that are attractive to government and empowerment sensitive tenants.”

Kameel holds a BCom and HDipAcc degree and is a qualified chartered accountant. He has diverse experience that extends across the Financial Services, Consulting, FMCG and Mining industries with global listed entities. A large component of this experience extends to direct functional responsibility across Africa, Middle East and Europe. He brings a strong focus on institutional controls, financial and risk management, reporting and corporate governance as well as extensive commercial, strategic and business development experience.
