Mike Kirchmann, who has 49 years’ experience in the property investment and development fields, has been appointed Chairman and Anton Raubenheimer becomes Managing Director.

Raubenheimer's appointment follows the resignation of John Rainier who will remain on the board in a non-executive capacity.

Now responsible for all of Standard Bank’s real estate asset management functions, Rainier will be focusing on growing real estate assets under management in other African countries, as part of the recently formed Real Estate Investments Division of its Emerging Markets Asset Management group.

"I have been at the helm of Fountainhead (Grayprop as it was previously called) for over eleven years" says Rainier, "and am lucky in being able to hand over to a very capable and well-established team who I am sure will continue to look after our unitholders' interests.  Anton has been looking after the Fund for much of the year and has brought a very good balance to the business, moving up the ranks from Chief Financial Officer."

Raubenheimer, who has been CEO of the fund since April this year, says, "I look forward to the challenge of building on the success of the Fund in the future.  We will continue to look for superior total rates of return for our unit holders and are justifiably proud in outperforming the total rate of return earned on the FTSE/JSE South African Property Index for the year to September 2008.
