The post is responsible for Project Engineering support on all projects specifically focusing on design and technical integrity and quality. Compliance to standards, regulations and policies and procedures to be enforcedas well as development of technical equipment policies, procedures and best practices.

• Supporting Project Managers in large hospital building projects with respect to design reviews ofexternal consultants, quality control (document, design and implementation), project procurement andplant commissioning.
• Technical adjudication of selected sub?contractors, specialist contractor assessments and developmentof SLAs.
• Performance testing and fit for purpose verification of all technical plant and equipment.
• Ensure proper compliance of all designs and installations to applicable South African and internationalstandards.
• Project management role of smaller projects from project initiation stage, concept design and feasibilitystage, detailed design stage, project implementation stage and evaluation and review stage.
• Responsible for the development, management and ensuring compliance of and to project documenttemplates including investigative report, concept design report, and scope of work, functional designreport, detailed design report, tender documentation and post project data pack.
• Responsible for the updating of electrical, mechanical, medical gases, HVAC and Wet Services as?builtdocumentation for modification projects and for existing facilities.
• Designing, performing, participating and evaluating quality audits on engineering designs, hospitals andsuppliers.
• Responsible for the development of policies and procedures including engineering design manuals,medical gases, hot water generation, rotating equipment, fire systems, health and safety.
• Ensuring general compliance to SANS, OHS Act and NEMA standards.
• Development of electrical equipment design philosophies for transformers, switch gears, generators,
• UPS, lighting, medical locations 1,2,3,4 and room data sheets.
• Development of HVAC design philosophies for central vs. split units, medical location 1,2,3,4, ASHRAEguidelines, SANS compliance.
• Management of project health and safety aspects including management of H&S consultants
• Development and management of project H&S plans and specifications act, as H&S officer on selected
• projects and conduct H&S training.
• Assist hospital TSMs with project management of smaller hospital projects.
• Provide support and assistance with the CMMS and dashboard reporting.
SKILLS PROFILE

EDUCATION
• National Electrical or Mechanical Engineering Diploma
• Project Management Diploma / certificate

WORK EXPERIENCE
• Minimum of 5 years experience in Project Engineering and/or Management in a Healthcare, Engineeringor Service Industry
