The Aucor multiproperty sale at the Gallery in Randburg on Thursday reported mixed results, with good prices fetched by some lots while others attracted more subdued bidding.

“It’s difficult to read the market at the moment. Certain properties, especially industrial ones, are hot, but there are others that are hard to sell,” auctioneer Eddie Winterstein said.

In top spot was a showroom/offices/factory in Kramerville, described by Winterstein as one of the few properties of its kind left in the area. Bidding opened at R5m and the hammer came down on the final bid of R10,75m.

In central Benoni, a block of six flats on Princess Avenue sold for R1,25m, and a prime corner stand of 2085m² on Minerva Avenue in Glenadrienne for R1,7m. The stand, with an income of R17500 a month, is suitable for business and residential use.

A 10893m² erf with a light industrial zoning in Oaklands, Krugersdorp, offering a workshop, yard and offices, sold for R3,4m. Fully serviced land on a 1983m² stand opposite Cresta Centre on Beyers Naude Drive attained a hammer price of R3,9m. The land has a business two zoning.

Other lots that came under the hammer were: a service station site in Welgedacht, Springs, on 1750m² (R400000); four renovated retail units on two properties on Jules Street, Malvern, offering a gross income of R190800 a year (R850000); and a warehouse/offices on 1190m² in Kew (R800000).
