The Sir Francis Hotel in Green Point will come under the hammer at an Alliance Group auction at the end of the month.

The Sir Francis Hotel in Green Point will come under the hammer at an Alliance Group auction at the end of the month.

The hotel, on two erven, is situated on High Level Road, a prime location known for its convenient proximity to the Cape Town central business district and the 2010 Soccer World Cup stadium. Its views overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, with Signal Hill and Lion’s Head just above it, are further attractions.

The property is also near Sea Point’s upmarket, vibrant cafes, restaurants and cocktail bars on Main Road and Somerset Road.

The Victoria & Alfred Waterfront, Sea Point Pavilion, Greenmarket Square and the Adelphi Centre are all within a 5km radius of the property.

Recently, it has been used as residential property but this came to an end on April 30.

The building has a residential four zoning and the buyer will be able to proceed with a development, or sectionalise.

There are 28 large apartments, each with a bedroom, kitchen, and bathroom. There is off-street parking from High Level Road, and garages below. Plans have been approved for increased bulk additions.

“This is a fantastic development opportunity with idyllic views overlooking the 2010 World Cup stadium, V&A Waterfront and Green Point precinct,” says Kim Faclier of the Alliance Group.

The auction will be held at noon on Monday, June 23.

It takes place at The Table Bay Hotel, at the V&A Waterfront, Cape Town.
