Isivuno Apex Properties has negotiated leases with government for more than 80,000m2 of office space in the nine months since 1 July 2007 on behalf of ApexHi Properties Limited

ApexHi MD David Rice says government is ApexHi’s largest tenant, and the company partnered with Isivuno – an enterprise development initiative in terms of the Property Transformation Charter – in a profit sharing and management deal in which Isivuno would handle all lease negotiations with government in ApexHi’s portfolio.

From 1 July 2007 to 31 March 2008, Isivuno concluded 20 separate leasing deals with various government departments around the country.

Isivuno senior transaction manager, Toni Maluleke, says the majority of the leases were renewals in Pretoria, where the bulk of the office portfolio is located.  Here, some 60,000m2 of space was renewed in the last nine months.

In Johannesburg, a further 12,900m2 was renewed with two separate departments, while other deals were concluded with government in Port Elizabeth, Durban, Polokwane, Bloemfontein, North West and Nelspruit.
