Aengus Property Holdings will change the face of student accommodation in the same way it has transformed city living with the launch of Parktown Views, 71 upmarket and affordable student apartments on Parktown’s border

Richard Rubin

As part of its ongoing commitment to offering tenants a complete lifestyle experience, Parktown Views offers Johannesburg’s students the coolest and most comprehensive package of services, including transport, security, internet access, satellite TV and furniture.

Aengus Property Holdings has been a major player in the rejuvenation of Johannesburg’s city centre, and Parktown Views extends the company’s upmarket living concept to service the city’s student population.

Aengus Property Holdings MD Richard Rubin said that statistics showed that there will be an excess of 10 000 students attending education facilities in the area that will be without accommodation close to their places of study in 2008. “We are very excited to be able to service this market, with an upmarket living experience that will be the envy of all other students,” Rubin said.

Parktown Views is Aengus’ latest development, building on the success of its various inner-city lifestyle developments, including Braamfontein Lofts, Fashion Lofts, Lofts@66 and Tribeca Lofts.

According to Marketing Director of Aengus Property Management Simon Rubin, “We have taken things a step further with Parktown Views. We have always given our tenants access to an exceptional array of lifestyle services, but we have added Wi-Fi access – a must for any student conducting research, satellite TV on a plasma screen in every broom and free daily transport to universities and colleges in the area,” Rubin said.

Situated at 83 Klein Street, Johannesburg on Parktown’s border, Parktown Views is ideally situated for Wits, Damelin and University of Johannesburg Students who want to live close to their places of study. Each until will accommodate two students, and Rubin said that Parktown Views rentals would start at just R1950 per student sharing, including water and lights.

“We are giving students a unique opportunity to live, work and play near their places of study in much the same way as we have provided residents in our upmarket city living buildings the opportunity to live near their places of work. As with all our buildings, we are providing tenants with a trendy lifestyle experience, rather than just a place to live,” Rubin said.

As with all of Aengus’ new developments, all of Parktown Views’ apartments are furnished, and come complete with 2 beds, a stove, a desk and a bar fridge. Each unit has a private bathroom and kitchen.

“All this is backed up by 24 hour security, and we have made sure that each apartment has an intercom to enhance the safety of the building,” Rubin said.

Rubin said Aengus would make just 71 of the upmarket apartments available, and students could book their places in the building by calling (011) 403 0554, or faxing (011) 403 0585. Alternatively, tenants interested in living the Aengus way can log onto www.aengus.co.za or e-mail This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

Rubin said Parktown Views student tenants would also benefit from Aengus’ Lifestyle card, which would give them discounts and other advantages with the company’s retail partners.

Rubin also emphasised that Parktown Views would benefit from Aengus’ wholly-owned subsidiary Aengus Property Management’s wealth of experience in managing properties. He said the quality of the management of Aengus buildings was a major reason behind the company’s success.

Aengus has been a leading player in inner-city rejuvenation for the last four years. It has developed several upmarket apartment buildings as part of a commitment to provide cost effective quality city living to tenants.

This development is a joint venture between Aengus Property Holdings and JSE-listed ApexHi Properties.
