Central Park, a cluster of three unique but interrelated office parks arranged around a village green, is to be launched at Century City

Offering a total of 18 000 square metres of intimately planned, village-scale office buildings, Central Park is also being designed as the focal recreational point or hub of life for the greater Century City precinct.

It is to be developed in phases with the first phase comprising The Courtyard which will offer four exclusive freehold opportunities for owner occupiers; Grand Central which will include a multi-functional Clubhouse, community square and new offices for the Century City Property Owners Association and The Pavilion, which includes sectional title office suites for sale.

The four buildings in The Courtyard, which are being designed for owner occupiers, will vary in size from 900 square metres to 2500 square metres with the Gatehouse, a fifth self-contained building at the entrance to Central Park, available to rent. Occupation is scheduled from December 2008.

Sectional title office suites in The Pavilion, most of which have private balconies and magnificent views over Intaka Island and Central Park, will be available for sale from 124 square metres to 175 square metres or combinations thereof. This precinct will also include a stand-alone 515 square metre office block, The Lighthouse, which will be available to rent.

Grand Central will be the point of arrival for visitors to both Intaka Island, Century City’s award-winning wetlands nature reserve, and the CCPOA offices.  It will also be home to a new nerve centre for the city’s security operations, a launch pad and clubhouse for the Century City Canoe Club providing access to the 8km of waterways at Century City. In addition it will boast a community square which will have a strong edutainment component including some historic steam trains. The Century City Choo-choo Train railway line will run up the Grand Canal from Ratanga Junction and circle Central Park before stopping at the Clubhouse.

All three developments will overlook Central Park where concerts, corporate gatherings and informal sports events are planned.

A bridge providing the main pedestrian access point for Intaka Island, Century City’s award-winning nature conservation wetlands, will also lead off the community square providing another edutainment outing for school and other groups.

The square will be completed by the end of this year and the CCPOA offices by mid 2008. Central Park itself will be completed in the first half of 2009 with the offices being brought on stream on a phased, market-driven basis.
