Retail activity in Rosebank on the upward move

Rosebank’s share of the retail market is moving upwards; this has being spurred by the strong growth experienced in this node in the past few months.

Ivan Pachonick, retail director of JHI Real Estate, whose division manages in excess of 527 000 square metres of retail space in confirms this.

A case in point is the Mall of Rosebank where Ivan and his team have secured seven new leases totalling 1783 square metres. These include Foschini, @ Home (Foschini brand), Identity (Truworths brand), Maxi’s, American Swiss, Donna Claire and The Cross Trainer.

“We are very excited that the Foschini Group has leased space for four stores in the Mall - this is a very positive move for the Rosebank node,” comments Pachonick.

“Discussions with other major national retailers, who have expressed keen interest in securing premises in the Mall are underway and we will do our utmost to accommodate them.”

He adds that this interest from retailers stems from a strong increase in public support and retail activity within the Rosebank node.
