New look for The Mall of Rosebank

Major extensions, a great tenant mix and a refurbishment to The Mall of Rosebank leads to increased profits for tenants and exciting shopping hours for shoppers.

According to Ivan Pachonick retail director of JHI Real Estate, whose division manages The Mall, a varied tenant mix, great teamwork between tenants and management and increased parking facilities are the success factors.

“The new tenant mix and refurbishment further compliments the flourishing African Craft Market and strengthens the piazza ambience created in Cradock Avenue.”

Pachonick confirms that the visitors parking increased in excess of 45%, whilst the Malls turnover went up by 22% for the first quarter of 2002, compared to the same period in 2001. Certain national tenants have shown almost 40% increases for the same period.

“Since moving into The Mall in October last year we have achieved excellent turnovers,” says Barend Bredenkamp, store manager for the Rosebank Pick ‘n Pay.

New tenants occupying 573m2, include Clockwise, Café Nescafé, Herbert Evans and B & B Rooftop Shop. Whilst some existing tenants such as Nedbank, Sophia’s, Blacksteers, Incredible Connection, Spitz and Van den Bergh’s have expanded their premises. “This is only the start - more exciting developments that will be announced shortly,” says Pachonick.

He adds that The Mall will continue to cater for its loyal and longstanding shopper, whilst not forgetting the support it receives from the large office component in the Rosebank node.
