Neels Brink, Resorts Development Director has resigned from Moreland with effect from the end of April to pursue his personal business interests.

Neels Brink, Resorts Development Director has resigned from Moreland with effect from the end of April to pursue his personal business interests. His portfolio over a 15-year period with the company has included Director of Planning, Housing and Development Co-ordination, and Director of Resorts Development.

Neels is largely credited with the visionary development plans implemented by Moreland, over the last 15 years and has been instrumental in the facilitation of projects including Zimbali, Sibaya, Umhlanga Ridge, Ushaka Marine World development nodes.

He has been Moreland’s representative and principal in the joint -venture with IFA Hotels and Resorts, which has catapulted both Moreland and the Zimbali Coastal Resort into the international spotlight.

Mr. Brink commenced his professional career as a private consultant in Land Surveying and Town Planning from 1976 to 1990, before joining the Tongaat-Hulett in 1990. He has been involved in wide-ranging development initiatives and is currently responsible for a development portfolio of some R200m per annum, as well as development co-ordination within Moreland.

Neels intends to launch a new property development company and further details will be made available early in May 2005.

He says of his time with the group “My 15 years with Moreland was exciting and I leave with a sense of pride on all the achievements I was party to and I am sure Moreland will go from strength with the very capable management team under the leadership of Gordon Hibbert”

He will be a major loss to the Moreland team but on the bright side, this opens a number of opportunities for other team members, which are currently being explored by the Executive and further announcements will be made shortly.”
