Services International, a national player in the portable exhibition and display solution industry, is expanding and relocating their outlet and have signed a further ten year lease. This follows eight years of successful trading at the Mall for a retailer, which may seem an unlikely tenant for the centre.
“The R14 million conversion of the Mall into a value-convenience Centre was a factor in our expansion and extended lease but the location, security and ample parking is ideal for us”, says owner Tertius Gerber. “Situated on Edwin Swales Drive, our offices are easily accessible from the main freeways leading in from the North, South and West and it is only a ten minute drive from Durban International Airport”.
The rationale behind combining convenience and value shopping is that research conducted by managing agents JHI Real Estate, indicated that customers are becoming increasingly time and convenience conscious when it comes to meeting all their shopping needs. They want to get their day-to-day purchases and services, as well as their appliances, bulk and DIY items under one roof. Driving to two different locations is no longer easily accepted.
The 420sqm Services International outlet situated on the upper level of the Mall, houses a photo and graphic design studio as well as the equipment for high resolution scanning, laser playouts, wide format inkjet and outdoor printing, laminating and encapsulating, framing and finishing.
To date Services International has focused on Gauteng and the Cape based clients such as SAA, Bayer, Cadburys, Clicks, Eskom, Honda, Lafarge, Microsoft and Pen Travel but with the Southway Mall premise becoming the businesses Head Office, the KwaZulu Natal market will now be actively targeted.
“Although we have established and ever increasing corporate clients, we have a retail aspect to our business and encourage customers to make use of our stationery section for their small business, home and school requirements”, concludes Tertius.
The relocation and expansion of the Southway Mall outlet has coincided with the opening of a sales office and showroom in Randburg.
Services International have freelance representatives in the USA, UK, Holland and Australia. Their material is imported from the USA, Canada, UK, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Sweden, Norway and Japan.
