One of Sandton's most recognisable landmarks celebrated its 10th birthday.

Rated among the world's finest business hotels in the prestigious 2003 World's Best Awards Survey, the InterContinental Sandton Towers Hotel recently underwent several changes and enhancements.

For example, the exclusive Club Floor - where the InterContinental Sandton Towers accommodates its business travellers - received a R1,8-million refurbishment while another R2-million was invested in the hotel's Atrium Restaurant.

Since it opened its door a decade ago, the hotel, which celebrated its anniversary last Thursday, has accommodated hundreds of foreign dignitaries and celebrities. Richard Branson, Sean Connery and Bill Clinton are but three who have stayed in the Tower's exclusive penthouse when visiting Johannesburg.
