Blok is proud to announce the completion of NINEONS, our development at 9 Scholtz Road.

 BLOK

This thoughtfully designed 23-apartment development is nestled between Main and High Level Roads in Green Point, and features a shared rooftop entertainment deck and pool with panoramic views of the Green Point Common and Three Anchor Bay.

A perfect balance of design features such as the liberal use of glass to maximise the incredible light quality and views to the building’s modified angle and striking vertical fins of the building that maintain privacy and act as sound protection, has resulted in a development with a strong and dynamic aesthetic.

NINEONS also has a strong focus on smart urban living, with space maximised throughout the development’s design, both inside and out of each home, and a communal feel that will encourage neighbourly interaction. “By focusing on dual functionality and Third Spaces, we have designed apartments that deliver innovative homes in the desirable Atlantic Seaboard. The shared spaces in NINEONS also presented us with the opportunity to blur the line between passageways and entrances. By giving each apartment a courtyard and a balcony, we are encouraging a relationship between apartments and their neighbours, in a similar role to the famous South African stoep,” says Blok MD Jacques van Embden.

As with all of Blok's previous developments, state-of-the-art appliances, oak flooring, as well as Third Spaces such as home offices, bars and balcony seating and dining, have kept the Blok standard of quality and functionality throughout each apartment high.

Blok partnered with Dark Horse, which crafts raw and refined furniture using the finest locally sourced materials and skills, to dress the apartment currently on show at NINEONS. “We were excited to collaborate with Blok again. NINEONS’ compact living approach presented us with a unique design challenge, that required pieces that were both functional yet stylish,” says Dark Horse MD Jarrad Nelson.

To complement Dark Horse’s furnishings and approach, pieces from Blok’s Konnect range such as photography by Russell Smith, BAU bar stools by North and a drinks trolley by Muse Collective have been tastefully placed throughout the show apartment.

Blok’s environmental consciousness is evident in NINEONS’ green construction methods and materials, such as stormwater collection tanks, green water heating and low energy light fixtures and appliances.

Homes still available in this development include two-bedroom apartments and gorgeous three-bedroom penthouses, each with a private roofdeck.
