Texton appoints senior asset manager to its UK portfolio

JSE listed diversified property REIT (JSE:TEX), Texton Property Fund Limited (“Texton”), is pleased to announce the appointment of James Armstrong as a Senior Asset Manager overseeing Texton’s assets in the United Kingdom (“UK”) effective 1 May 2018.

James is a seasoned property professional with strong UK and international experience encompassing his 25-year career. James previously held senior positions at Hammerson, Dawnay Day Carpathian and LREC. His extensive multi-sector expertise includes valuations, transactions, value –add asset management and development.

Commenting on the appointment, Nosiphiwo Balfour, CEO of Texton, said: “James brings a wealth of experience to our team as we continue to drive the optimisation of our UK asset portfolio to deliver a balance of asset and income growth. His initial focus will include driving the asset management priorities including the proposed Box Park and residential developments at Broad Street Mall, which is Texton’s single biggest asset in the UK as well as leveraging opportunities across the portfolio.”

As at 31 December 2017, Texton’s UK portfolio included 11 assets comprising office, retail and industrial properties in attractive nodes underpinned by blue chip clients. Valued at approximately R2.18bn, the UK portfolio comprises 40% of Texton’s assets by value.
