The Top Employers Institute conducts annual international research in more than 100 countries to identify leading employers that provide excellent employee conditions, that nurture and develop talent throughout all levels of the organisation, and that strive to continuously optimise employment practices.
“To be recognised among a select group of top employers confirms that we are on track to becoming an employer of choice and that Redefine is able to attract and retain high-calibre talent,” said Andrew Konig, Redefine Properties’ Chief Executive Officer.
“Property is our commodity but people are our business. Redefine’s performance is underpinned by our unique approach to relationships with our employees, as well as our tenants, partners, suppliers and the communities within which we operate.”
Companies considered for the Top Employer certification had to complete a stringent research process that was independently audited. Samantha Crous, Regional Director: Africa and Benelux for the Top Employers Institute said: “Optimal employee conditions ensure that people can develop themselves personally and professionally. Our comprehensive research concluded that Redefine Properties Limited provides an outstanding employment environment and offers a wide range of creative initiatives, from secondary benefits and working conditions, to performance-management programmes that are well thought out and truly aligned with the culture of their company.”
Redefine invests heavily in its staff by encouraging ongoing training and development. While it recognises the importance of retaining qualified staff, Redefine is also committed to increasing the skills pool in the property sector. The company introduced its learnership programme two years ago and in 2014, more than half of the 18 learners who completed the programme went on to pursue careers in property.
Redefine’s staff are encouraged to focus on building relationships that will deliver sustained value, and as such are proud to be recognised as brand ambassadors for the company. “In the end it comes down to people and our employees are fundamental to the success of our business,” said Konig.
