Cape Town has garnered yet another accolade as one of only 24 cities world-wide identified as “future winners”.

In a report released today (Friday 30 June) that bodes well for future investment in the city –and particularly the property sector –international research group Jones Land LaSalle says Cape Town’s future as a tourism and conference venue has been enhanced through urban renewal efforts.

Jones Lang LaSalle’s World Winning Cities research project shows “growing interest in property circles” amongst the 24 cities surveyed.

According to Andrew Smith, Cluttons South Africa Managing Director, the latest accolade for Cape Town validates the international property company’s decision to expand operations into South Africa and Cape Town in particular.

“This acknowledgement, coupled with Newsweek’s identification of Cape Town as one of the most creative cities in the world, can only serve to enhance the attractiveness of the Mother City as not only a place to visit and do business in, but also as a place to invest and settle in.”

Equally important, is the recognition of the unparalleled opportunity presented by Cape Town’s emergence as a conference venue, which Jones Lang LaSalle highlights.

“Research has shown that conference delegates have a propensity for repeat visits, which naturally translates into a multiplier-effect for both the tourism and property industries”, added Smith.

Furthermore, he said, “Cluttons’ strategy, in terms of identifying expansion locations, is given further impetus by the inclusion of Dubai, where the company also has operations, in the same report as one of the cities which especially stand out.”
