Thaba Mall, which is named after the area in which it will be established, Thabazimbi, is situated in the Limpopo province.

The development is the vision of Mr Louis Rossel that is well known in the bus transport industry of Limpopo and inter alia the founder of the Thaba Trans and LowveldBus Service Companies. The Development team is headed by Andries du Plooy from PDC Projects and include inter alia André Jerling from The Retail Property Group as well as Frans Farmer from Frans Farmer Architects.

The developer, Chestnut Hill Investments (Pty) Ltd will invest R200m in the Thaba Mall project which will stem outfllow of local spending to towns like Rustenburg, Northam and Lephalale.

Construction of the first phase of Thaba Mall started in May and will be 15,235 m2 of retail heaven, with the majority of the centre having national tenants such as Woolworths, Pick 'n Pay, KFC, Mr Price, the Pep Group, Nedbank and Truworths.

There will be a smorgasbord of 49 stores to choose from, with major fashion, food, bank,grocery and other local services being included. Another feather in its cap is the inclusion of West Pack Lifestyle.

The centre will be the first of its kind in the area and will ensure that patrons from the surrounding area will save substantially on transport costs, with many even being within walking distance of the centre. The Centre is situated at the entrance to Thabazimbion the main arterial Warmbaths Road, which will make for easy access and the centre will accommodate 642 parking bays.

Thaba Mall is scheduled to open its doors on Thursday, 26 March 2015, with a grand opening planned for the weekend.
