Eris Property Group opens Tsumeb Mall in Namibia

Tsumeb Mall was opened on Tuesday, 20 May 2014 in the Oshikoto region of Namibia.

In a speech read on his behalf by the Minister of Trade and Industry, Calle Schlettwein, President Hifikepunye Pohamba thanked shareholders of ERIS Property Group, Vildev Holdings and Reydev Holdings Namibia for investing in the facility.

Tsumeb Mall provides a fresh retail and lifestyle experience that adds vibrancy to the region, which is described as the "gateway to the north" of Namibia. It serves not only residents in Tsumeb as the retail facility has direct access from the M75, which is the main road through Tsumeb leading to Angola and the Etosha National Park.

Tsumeb Mall is the largest retail facility in Tsumeb and in the surrounding catchment area.The N$117, 5 million development has a GLA of 9 700m² and has a 95% national tenant mix.

The mall is anchored by a 2 100m² Pick 'n Pay,who promises to continue bringing shoppers fresh and crisp produce, and a variety of affordable choices. The fashion component consist of Woolworths, Edgars Active, Foschini, Jet & Legit, diners can look forward to family meal times at Spur, KFC, Debonairs and Steers.

The single level shopping mall is covered to embrace the culture of protecting the native indigenous trees that are synonymous with the region and the art combined with the trees highlights the beauty that the trees represents in the Mall.

Approximately 600 people were directly or indirectly employed during the construction phase and 200 permanent jobs were created with the opening of the centre.
