The number of building plans passed rose by 11.1% to R6.7bn between January and November last year‚ Statistics SA data showed on Thursday.
All three major building categories showed increases‚ with the largest percentage increase reported for nonresidential buildings (27.7% or R3.9bn)‚ followed by residential buildings (9.4% or R2.58bn)‚ and additions and alterations (1.1% or R216‚6m) Stats SA said the number of buildings reported as completed rose by 11.9% during the period.
