A first for China. Plans are afoot to built China's first "US-style"
shopping mall. Beijing Mall will have about 320 000sq m of retail
space on four levels, grouped around central galleries. Set to open
in 2004/2005, the mixed-use mall will be divided into eight
"districts" wrapped around individual courtyards.
