Auction Alliance will bring a Shoprite, located in the coal-mining town of Kathu in the Northern Cape, to auction on April 14.Shoprite’s lease expires in 2016 with the option to renew.

Property-Housing-ResidentialThe property is located in the Kathu CBD on the corner of Rietbok and Ben Alberts Streets, two of the area’s busiest streets, carrying the largest volumes of traffic into the suburbs and the CBD.

The property can be accessed via the nationally-tenanted Kathu shopping centre, offering a good tenant mix including Pep, Joshua Doore, FNB, Russels and Ellerines. In spite of the Kathu Centre forming a unit with the Shoprite, it does not form part of the sale.

Extending over 2525m², the Shoprite is one of the most established grocers in Kathu and services the surrounding established residential community. The property features its own butchery, bakery, small kiosk between the entrances and 2 smaller shops sub-leased by Shoprite.

Additionally, 5 roller shutter doors are installed with loading bays suitable for large commercial vehicles at the rear of the building. The property features ample parking, is paved throughout and internally, offers a neat and maintained appearance.

Comments Andreas Greeff of Auction Alliance, “The profitable Kathu Shoprite can be regarded as a prime investment opportunity due to it being amongst the most established large grocers in the Kathu area and it servicing the surrounding local community”.

The auction takes place at 12pm at the Hilton Hotel, 138 Rivonia Road Sandton.
