The company is to be housed in a new 3500 square metre office block to be at a cost of R54million.This is the ninth building to be developed in the Century City precinct by Gorrie & Findlay in recent years.
Construction of the three storey office block on a 3268 square metre site within the Century Gate precinct off Bosmansdam Road is due to start at the end of this month with completion set for March next year.
Designed by MLH Architects and Planners the development will also include 165 parking bays, 90% of which are basement bays.
Rob Wilkie, chief financial officer of Softline, said the company had created a modern, funky but professional working environment for their employees in both Woodmead in Gauteng and Umhlanga Rocks in KwaZulu Natal and wished to do the same for their Cape Town operations which were presently located at four different addresses.
“We chose Century City for a few reasons. Firstly, it is a sought after address that suits our corporate image.
“Secondly, it is in close proximity to our largest Cape Town office, meaning an easy relocation for the majority of our employees.
“It is also easily accessible to our customers, offers a safe and secure environment for our employees as well as a great variety of amenities such as shopping, restaurants and a gym.
“I don’t know of another location in Cape Town that could offer all of the above,” said Wilkie.
