Total income for the accommodation industry in August 2009 decreased by 12,6% compared with August 2008.

Income from accommodation decreases:

Income from accommodation for the three months ended August 2009 decreased by 5,1% compared with the three months ended August 2008. This decrease was mainly due to the decrease of 8,2% in stay unit nights sold during the same period. Income from accommodation in August 2009 decreased by 10,2% compared with August 2008.

Stay units available decrease:

The number of stay units available for the three months ended August 2009 decreased by 1,5% compared with the three months ended August 2008. The number of stay units available in August 2009 decreased by 1,0% compared with August 2008.

Stay unit nights sold decrease:

The number of stay unit nights sold for the three months ended August 2009 decreased by 8,2% compared with the three months ended August 2008. The number of stay unit nights sold in August 2009 decreased by 8,6% compared with August 2008.
