THE Legacy Corner, a mixed-use lifestyle development in the heart of Sandton’s business and shopping hub, is nearing completion.
Construction started in 2007 and the building is expected to be concluded by the second quarter of next year.
Legacy Corner has direct and easy access to Nelson Mandela Square and is close to Sandton City, the Michelangelo Towers Mall, as well as the Sandton Convention Centre.
The development includes an exclusive apartment block, four underground parking levels and extensive retail space, with an enormous Vodacom customer care outlet. It also boasts the luxury Da Vinci Hotel.
The Da Vinci Hotel is Legacy Hotels’ fourth development in the Sandton municipal area.
“Parts of the lower level of the Legacy Corner Mall, which leads off from Sandton Square, opened (earlier this month), while the entire second level will be opened by the end of this month,” Mike Klostermann of Legacy Development Management says.
The two retail levels house upmarket stores that complement the retail components in the square and the Michelangelo Towers Mall, as well as the Maximillien Restaurant.
The 17-storey Da Vinci Hotel, as well as the luxury apartments and penthouse suites, will be completed by February.
The Da Vinci Hotel, which will be of a contemporary style with a classical accent, will boast 166 rooms topped by 50 exclusive one-, two- and three-bedroomed apartments as well as four large penthouses on six levels.
A rooftop leisure terrace with city views will house a fitness facility including a swimming pool, Legacy Balance health spa and gym, and sun deck. The apartment block provides its target market with the most exclusive address in Sandton, but also offers urban and suburban professionals a sophisticated lifestyle of privacy, security and exclusivity.
The Da Vinci apartments are being sold with the appealing investment option of placing them in the lucrative rental pool. “Buyers deciding on this preference will be able to benefit from having a Stephen Falke design range of interior finishes and furniture,” Mike Rowley of Legacy says. “All apartments in the hotel rental pool will be able to utilise the Da Vinci Hotel’s service facilities as well as the concierge,” he says.
