Sun International advised on Wednesday that the Eastern Cape Gambling & Betting Board has announced Emfuleni Resorts (Pty) Limited as the preferred bidder for the new casino licence to be issued in the Port Elizabeth-centred Zone 1.

"The final award of the licence will depend upon and follow the Eastern Cape Provincial Government's sanction of the Gambling Board's decision, and the successful negotiation of the conditions to attach to the new licence.

The term of the licence is 15 years, effective from October 2010," Sun International said.
