The Thornhill Shopping Centre is Atterbury Property’s entry into this province in a joint venture with Tysocon Property

The innovative development is a strategically located convenience shopping centre which measures 8 730m² off the Duiwelskloof Rd.

Construction of the R100 million centre commenced in February 2008 and completion was earmarked for March 2009.  “This retail space is situated on prime land,” says Michala van Blerk of Atterbury Property.  “The centre can be found on the corner of Veldspaat and the Duiwelskloof Rd, close to the R71 that will soon become the route for the N1 diversion.  The area known as Bendor is the fastest growing and most sought after in Polokwane.”

The initial objective of this retail offering was to provide the community of Polokwane with a trendy and reliable shopping centre that boasted exciting and popular shops and service tenants. Whilst the appealing choices of a magnificent Superspa (which will be the anchor tenant), Cappello Restaurant and Fruit & Veg City will appeal to locals as well as tourists, the personal service and consumer entities such as Clicks, Doccy’s Hair Studio, Lathi Tha, Crazy Store and Stax Home Entertainment, will no doubt also prove exceptionally popular.  Banking facilities including ABSA and Standard Bank will also be available as well as exciting new fashion favourites such as La Loba, Roco Coco and Stiletto.

“Not only does Thornhill Shopping Centre offer the public a wide variety of over 30 shops, it also offers a friendly, relaxed, safe and unpretentious environment,” says van Blerk.  “The village type architecture, which includes the use of natural stone brickwork, has also incorporated quality and aesthetically pleasing finishes at all times.  To top it all the centre also has constant available parking.”

“We were determined to develop a shopping facility where folk could feel relaxed and at home,” says Andre Lombard, Tysocon Properties.  “It is essential that Thornhill Shopping Centre always provides secure, quick, exciting, convenient and effortless options.”
