A 5000ha game farm near the pioneers’ town of Vivo, 70km west of Makhado (Louis Trichardt), will come under the hammer of Van’s Auctioneers on Thursday.

The farm, Trekpad, with views over the bushveld of the Limpopo River valley to the north, is divided into two portions of 2 000ha and 3 000ha. Each portion has two spacious homes on it and related game farm amenities, including two large pack houses and modern slaughterhouses.

“It’s an ideal opportunity for an investor keen on developing this property into a luxurious holiday resort, hotel, game farm or nature reserve,” says Martin Pretorius, CEO of Van’s.

Besides its huge size and beauty, it boasts a great variety of game. This includes kudu, reedbuck, klipspringer, eland, nyala, blue wildebeest, antelope, gemsbuck, zebra, giraffe, bushpig, warthog, several types of predators such as leopard, hyena, cheetah, several species of jackal, and caracal.

The farm will be sold piecemeal per portion and then as one, on-site at 11am on September 18.

Also on the block is a luxurious, upmarket, spacious property in a security complex in Kosmos, Hartbeespoort; and development property of 8 400m² in Lyttelton on Tuesday, September 16. All the above auctions will take place on site at 11am.
