Spearhead proves it claim to be top performer in property loan stock sector

YESTERDAY's revelation that embattled property loan stock company Arnold Property Fund (A-Prop) is planning legal action to recoup value lost since its listing should come as no surprise to the market.

Listed asset management company Provest, which is part of the Investec Property Group, has come out in support of listed property funds outsourcing its management to companies outside the listed entity.

THE JSE Securities Exchange SA announced yesterday that the listings of property companies Bonatla Property Holdings and Fairvest Property Holdings had been suspended after they failed to submit their provisional financial statements on time.

Pretoria - The property unit trust and property unit trust sectors of the JSE Securities Exchange generated a pretax total return of 42.6 percent for the 12 months to December, according to an analysis by Provest, the wholly owned property asset management subsidiary of Investec Bank.

Property loan stock company Ambit Properties, a joint initiative of Absa Commercial Property Finance and Marriott Holdings, is set to be listed on the JSE Securities Exchange SA on February 4.
