National Treasury has revised downwards South Africa’s economic growth to 1.5%.

Credit rating agency Moody's Investors Service has downgraded South Africa's credit rating one notch from Baa1 to Baa2, while also revising the credit outlook from negative to stable, said National Treasury.

In a bid to encourage South Africans to save more, the Minister of Finance Pravin Gordhan, has announced plans to introduce tax-preferred savings and investment accounts in 2015.
