During the preparations of the inaugural 2011 Black Business Summit, Xolani was the chairman of the Task Team as well as the Chairman of the historic Summit, where the decision to suspend black business participation at BUSA was taken. At that summit President Zuma delivered the keynote address, part of which instigated the BBC to adopt the notion of the creation and development of Black Industrialists.
Xolani has played a pivotal role in mastering the broad membership of the BBC in influencing the amendment of the BEE Amendment Bill culminating in the Amended legislation alongside the revision of its key Regulation, the Revised Codes of Good Practice on BEE that has seen very drastic and far reaching amendments.
He was also part of the team assembled under the leadership of MNET and Cable & Wireless in 1992 that put together the tender proposal for the C3 cellular license that culminated in the award of the MTN license, Xolani represented FABCOS. He was subsequently appointed non-executive director from 1993 until 1996.
Xolani continues to participate in the structures of the BBC as a representative of REDISA, as one of the corporate members of the BBC.
