Craig Hean, who in 2013 succeeded Mark Bradford as Managing Director of JLL South Africa, will now take the additional newly created role of Managing Director, Sub-Saharan Africa, which includes an overview of JLL’s hub office operations in Lagos, Nigeria, covering western Africa, and Nairobi, Kenya, covering eastern Africa.

Unprecedented liquidity in global capital markets is fuelling investors to seek out new markets and it is beginning to find its home in real estate markets in Sub-Saharan Africa (SSA) says JLL in its latest research paper “Emerging Beyond the Frontier”.

Nairobi is the 5th JLL-owned and operated Hub on the continent from which real estate markets and clients in 22 countries are serviced.

Jones Lang LaSalle today announced the appointment of Mark Bradford, currently managing director of its South Africa business, as its first chairman for Sub-Saharan Africa, with a broad remit overseeing the firm’s growth strategy across the whole African continent.  

A shortage of prime properties is forcing a number of blue chip companies to take up space in new developments in prime nodes whilst the secondary market continues to suffer under the subdued economic environment.
