Michael Swingler was educated at the University of Stellenbosch and the University of South Africa, where he successfully completed a B.Compt (Hons) and was admitted as a Chartered Accountant and Auditor in South Africa. Michael is a CFA Charterholder.

Michael has been directly employed by Oasis for ten years since the company’s inception after he completed his articles with Deloitte & Touche in South Africa. He is a registered Portfolio Manager with the Financial Services Board (South Africa), and is a member of the Association of Collective Investments Fund Management Committee (South Africa).

Michael is currently an Executive Director of Oasis Group Holdings (Pty) Limited and he has held this post since 2000. In addition, he is also an Executive Director of Oasis Asset Management Limited, and Oasis Crescent Capital (Pty) Limited the two regulated and authorized Asset Management companies in South Africa.

He currently serves as an Executive Director on the Boards of Oasis Crescent Management Company Ltd and Oasis Crescent Property Fund Managers Limited the two mutually-exclusive Collective Investment Scheme Administration companies.
