Zuko Kubukeli, B.Sc, Ph.D., serves as the Chief Executive Officer and Principal at Pan-African Private Equity Funds.
Kubukeli serves as an Executive Director at Pan-African Capital Holdings (PTY) Ltd and is responsible for strategy and acquisitions. Dr. Kubukeli oversees company analysis and valuation, turnaround propositions, mergers, and consulting to some of the country's largest financial institutions in people, business, sport and health, and financial services. During his time in this role, together with other parties, he founded the Inspired Evolution Fund. Dr. Kubukeli serves as Director of Strategy and Acquisition at Pan-African Capital Holdings (PTY) Ltd. He served as Principal at Inspired Evolution Investment Management. He served as Executive Director at Inspired Evolution Investment Management.
Kubukeli served as an Executive Director in the specialized funds division at Brait. Previously, he was an Equity Analyst at the firm, specializing in the retail and industrials sector. Kubukeli was instrumental in developing Brait's investment philosophy, criteria and hedge fund manager's selection process and grew Brait's fund divisions eight-fold and increasing the number of managers from two to eleven. Kubukeli is involved extensively within the private equity arena primarily in the unlisted company space, performing company analysis and valuation, turnaround propositions, mergers and consulting to some of the country’s largest financial institutions. Kubukeli serves as the Chairman of Bond Alliance, Nobuntu Investments II, Stowe Holdings, Gambare, and Black Equity.
Kubukeli serves as an Executive Director at PACH and is responsible for strategy and acquisitions. He also serves as a Non-Executive Director on a number of listed companies and Pan-African’s investment portfolio where he is active in a number of sub-committees. He has been an Independent Non-Executive Director of Poynting Holdings Limited since May 8, 2008; and Cross Colours Consultancy (Pty) Ltd since July 2007.
He serves as a Director of Dental Risk Company (Pty) Limited and Poynting Antennas Proprietary Limited. He served as an Independent Non Executive Director of Platfields Limited from April 12, 2012 to August 1, 2014. He is an exercise physiologist by training and has extensive experience in the biomedical research.He holds a Ph.D. in Human Biology from the University of Cape Town in 2001, a B.Sc. degree in Biochemistry and Microbiology in 1995, and a B.Sc. Hons in Medicine in Exercise Science in 1996.
