Aim of the position:
Responsible for overseeing Finance department and directing accounting functions, including general ledger, accounts payable and receivable, fixed asset, and cost accounting. Preparing monthly reports, reviewing and reconciling data, and participating in the development of specialized financial data. Overseeing and preparing entries and adjustments to Company records, files, and statements. Preparing financial and variance analyses and 3 year budgets. Providing management with information necessary for decision-making. Directing, training, supervising, and appraising finance personnel.

Core Job Description and Responsibilities:

? Manage Full finance function ie Debtors, creditors, fixed assets, payment approvals and reconciliation of all balance sheet accounts.
? Authorising of monthly journals.
? Updating fixed asset register and preparation of depreciation journal
? Preparation of monthly management committee packs for co-owners and presentation at Monthly co-owners meeting
? Checking and Approving of monthly rent roll and additional billings to tenants
? Annual Budget preparation.
? Monthly forecast preparation and variance analysis against budget.
? Monthly Vat reconciliation.
? New systems implementation.ie Broll Online.
? Monitoring of internal controls.
? Releasing payments via eft and signing of cheques paid to suppliers
? Month end procedures
? Preparation of cash calls to co-owners for capital projects.
? Reconciliation of capital progress payments against approved capex budgets
? Preparation of cash distribution to co-owners
? Daily liaison with attorneys on legal debtors including instructions to proceed with legal action and the extent of same.
? Preparation of year end finance and tax pack for auditors.
? Compiling of auditors assistance schedules prior to year end external audits, internal audit, lease audits, procurement audits.
? Day to day managing and control of expenditure.
? Overseeing the Finance department daily functions and approving and authorising purchases and payments against budgets. Signing of cheques and releasing payments via eft.
? Preparation of management, regulatory and governmental reports. Reviews financial information needed to ensure an accurate statement of the Company’s financial position to various regulatory agencies.
? Vat reconciliation and payment
? Oversees the Company’s fixed asset portfolio. Prepares depreciation schedules and catalogues furniture, fixtures, and equipment.
? Researching and resolving accounting errors and discrepancies.
? budget preparations and formulation of 1, 3 and 5 year projections and financial analyses.
? Strict monitoring of costs and expenditure against budget
? assessing and adjusting forecast in accordance with current financial results
? Managing financial income, including management and admin fees on rental recoveries, commissions on new or renewed leases, and interest earnings.
? Managing financial expenditure, including running costs, staff expenses, admin costs
? Prepares regular reports and statements for presentation to co-owners at monthly owners meetings .
? Ensures that accounting functions are completed in accordance with established procedures and applicable regulations.
? Financial Year end and audit preparation, including lease audits, internal audit and tenant audits. Completing tax and accounting pack before audit resumes.
? Compiling of audit assistance schedules before year end audit.
? Liaising with auditors and co-owners on audit finding and resolving of same.

The Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate for the position must satisfy the following criteria:
? Have technical knowledge of accounting concepts, practices, procedures and financial reports
? Understanding of related regulations
? Have background knowledge in Retail
? Ability to manage and assist others
? Deadline driven and exceptional project management skills
? Must have above average analytical skills
? Excellent managerial skills
? Well-organised and attentive to detail

Preferred Skills and Abilities:

? B Comm/Honours Degree
? Completed Articles and advantage
? Cost management experience
? Minimum 5-10 years working experience especially in a managerial position
? Strong Excel and Pastel Evolution knowledge and experience
? Knowledge of Broll Online an advantage
