Renewable energy projects benefit South Africa

Renewable energy has benefited South Africa, a study by the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) has found.

The Department of Energy says it is expecting R47 billion to be invested in the country through Window 1 of the Renewable Energy Independent Power Producer Programme (REIPPP).

The Development Bank of Southern Africa (DBSA) has approved loan facilities of R9.6 billion for renewable energy projects.
