Hilton today announced the signing of a management agreement with Growthpoint Properties, South Africa’s largest REIT, to open a hotel under its lifestyle Canopy by Hilton brand. 

Hilton (NYSE: HLT) has committed a total of $50 million over the next five years towards the Hilton Africa Growth Initiative to support the continued expansion of its Sub-Saharan African portfolio. 

Hilton Garden Inn Accra Liberation Road becomes landmark deal, with additional signings in Kenya and Nigeria as Hilton seeks to double its presence across the continent.
