The Renewable Energy Independent Power Producer Procurement Programme (REIPPP) is making a significant impact on the economy, job creation, community upliftment, economic transformation and climate change.

As part of the government’s Renewable Energy IPP Procurement Programme (REIPPP), that aims to secure 13 225 MW of renewable energy for the South African power grid by 2025, a new 100MW solar power plant is being built near Upington in the Northern Cape.
