Eskom reconfiguration set in motion

Work is afoot on reconfiguring the South African electricity sector by addressing challenges faced by Eskom, with the board of the first subsidiary of the power utility to be appointed by mid-2019, Treasury said on Wednesday.

South Africa’s eastern province of KwaZulu-Natal, with its diverse culture, year-long sublime climate and abundant natural heritage sites and attractions, has the pull power to bring even more international and domestic tourists to its shores, and has the most potential nationwide to become the tourism capital of the country.

During the 2016 State of the Nation Address, the President of the Republic of South Africa first announced that a Bill regulating the ownership of land would be published for comment and tabled before Parliament.

The South African Institute of Black Property Practitioners supports the call at the recent State of the Nation Address (SONA) for land reform, and expediting the transformation of the property sector.

During his State of the Nation address on Thursday evening, President Jacob Zuma commented on the property market saying that, “This sector in our country is valued at approximately R7 trillion, with the subsidised sector being valued at R1.5 trillion”. 

Government is working hard to promote greater private sector investment in a range of sectors.
