Coega gets promise of tenants — at last

WILL THEY COME? A Coega interchange for traffic from expected tenants COEGA is beginning to shake off its woes with a number of new tenants committing billions to the controversial port development.

Listed property loan stock company iFour Properties said yesterday it had delivered a total return of 21,1% to its unitholders for the year to June.

THE Belgian Sander textiles project at the Coega industrial development zone appears to have run aground after Coega management said it had commenced negotiations with potential new tenants for the factory it had built for Sander.

Coega, Standard Bank ink deal

Alcan is taking its time to decide whether to proceed with the $2,5-billion Coega aluminum smelter project in South Africa, the Canadian company's chief executive said yesterday.

MANAGEMENT of the Coega industrial development zone near Port Elizabeth says it expects three to four of the 70 projects it has attracted to come to fruition "very soon".

Alcan to give update on Coega smelter

CANADIAN aluminium and packaging group Alcan plans to give an update of its feasibility study next month on whether it will construct an aluminium smelter at the Coega Industrial Development Zone near Port Elizabeth.
