Face of PE's inner city is set to undergo a drastic revamp, with plans to transform some old, rundown buildings into social housing projects.

Block by block and street by street, Port Elizabeth’s historic Central is steadily being reclaimed and regenerated as a vibrant hub of live-work-and-play activity, housing students, young professionals, creative and professional businesses and tertiary education institutions as well as popular tourist attractions.

Private sector real estate investment in the suburb of Richmond Hill in Port Elizabeth is rising on the back of ongoing regeneration projects, with a record 68 percent of businesses and 34 percent of home owners making improvements to their properties in 2014. 

Steady growth has made Port Elizabeth property a safe as houses investment bet, with new developments matching national trends.
