Menlyn Park Shopping Centre in Pretoria celebrated the fruits of two years of hard work on Friday night, hosting a magnificent party to relaunch the popular mall, now the biggest in Africa following a R2-billion makeover.

Menlyn Park Shopping Centre is close to completing its ambitious R2.5 -billion redevelopment which will position it as the largest mall on the continent, and a sought-after destination for shoppers from the surrounding areas as well as farther afield.

A press conference marking 60 days to the November launch of the new Menlyn Park Shopping Centre was held today.

The South African Council of Shopping Centres’ (SACSC) Footprint Marketing Awards were announced at the SACSC’s 20^th Annual Congress, currently underway at the Sandton Convention Centre, and the coveted top award - the Spectrum Award - was won by industry icon Sandton City.

Menlyn Park Shopping Centre in Pretoria is undergoing a R2-billion redevelopment that will make it the largest mall in Africa, with over 500 shops. And for added convenience for shoppers, a South African Police Service (SAPS) Brooklyn contact point has been opened at the centre.

To minimise inconvenience to shoppers during its current refurbishment, Menlyn Park Shopping Centre has introduced 12 Concierge Ambassadors to assist shoppers during its phase two expansion.

The SA Property Owners' Association (Sapoa) has honoured Menlyn Park Shopping Centre in Pretoria for developmental excellence, and Westlake Estates in Cape Town for its contribution to society.
