Vukile lists on Namibian Stock Exchange

Property loan stock Vukile made its debut on the Namibian Stock Exchange on Wednesday - with the code VKL - as part of its strategy to expand its property portfolio in that country.

Speaking at a ceremony to mark the occasion, chairman Anton Botha said the dual listing was a demonstration of Vukile's confidence in the prospects for the Namibian economy in general and its commercial property sector in particular.

Emira Property Fund, which recently acquired smaller property loan stock company, Freestone Property Holdings Ltd, has received Board approval to spend a total of R254m on new property developments and refurbishments to existing properties over the next nine months

The South African listed property sector has been experiencing some price volatility because of uncertainty about interest rate movements

Listed Property in South Africa is finding its way on to the buying lists of leading international pension fund/asset managers now that the sector is starting to offer the size and liquidity required by offshore investors
