Hammerson completes £236m Highcross sale

Hammerson plc  today announces that is has completed the sale of the 50% stake in Highcross shopping centre in Leicester to an Asian investor introduced by M&G Real Estate for £236m.

On 4 October 2018 a consortium comprising the Peel Group (‘Peel’), the Olayan Group and Brookfield Property Group (together the ‘Consortium’) announced they were in the preliminary stages of considering a possible cash offer for intu.

JSE-listed Accelerate Property Fund today reported interim financial results for the six months ended 30 September 2018 in line with company guidance.

Today’s October CPI (Consumer Price Index) showed a slight acceleration in its year-on-year inflation rate, from 4.9% in the previous month to 5.1%.

SARB hikes repo rate by 25 basis points

The Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) of the South African Reserve Bank (SARB) has increased the repurchase rate (repo) by 25 basis points, effective 23 November, Governor Lesetja Kganyago announced on Thursday. 

JSE listed REIT Octodec Investments Limited today announced its full year results which were impacted by pressure on rental income growth, the lag effect of the let-up period at recent developments, and competitive pressures. A distribution of 203.4 cents per share was declared for the period.

Third quarter (Q3 18) statistics released by ooba, South Africa’s leading home loan originator, show that year-on-year from Q3 17 to Q3 18, the growth in the Average Purchase Price effectively remained static with a 0.1% increase. This continues the trend of negative real price growth (growth less inflation) in the residential property market.

The results of Consulting Engineers South Africa's (CESA) Bi-annual Economic and Capacity Survey for the period January to June 2018 recently released indicates positive news, that the construction sector has seen growth for the first time in six quarters.
