The Green Building Council of South Africa has launched two exciting new courses – "Greening Existing Buildings" and "Economics of Green Building" in response to need and industry demand.

The latest green building rating tool launched by the Green Building Council of South Africa (GBCSA), the Green Star SA - Public & Education Building (version 1) Rating Tool, was first put through its paces in an extensive pilot project carried out on a number of public buildings in South Africa and is now freely available in digital format.

The new R100 million South African Police Service (SAPS) 10111 Radio Control Centre in Korsten, Port Elizabeth, designed by Matrix for the National Department of Public Works (NDPW), is a world-class facility built with the intension of achieving a four star Green Star SA

Sandton buildings are going green

A hundred years ago Sandton was considered the 'market garden' of Johannesburg, about 50 years later Sandton is described as a 'community of 30,000 whites and 15,000 horses'.

The Green Building Council of South Africa (GBCSA) applauds Africa’s largest pension fund - the Government Employees Pension Fund (GEPF) – on joining the Global Real Estate Sustainability Benchmark (GRESB).

A new comprehensive report recently released from the World Green Building Council (WorldGBC), highlights that there are a large number of compelling benefits from green buildings received by different stakeholders throughout the life cycle of a building.
