Investec Property Fund (“IPF” or “the Fund”) is pleased to announce an interim dividend of 68.37 cents per share (cps) for the six months ended 30 September 2017 (Sept 16: 60.91 cps).

Despite the difficult economic climate South Africa is experiencing at present, Fairvest Property Holdings Limited managed to conclude some 30 lease renewals, or 6 000m² of GLA during the first four months of the new financial year at the budgeted rentals.

'Rentvestor' a new breed of property buyer

Levies need to be set at the correct level

In some sectional title schemes, trustees might think keeping the levies as low as possible would be beneficial to the owners, but this is sometimes incorrect.

It has been common practice for municipalities to sell vacant properties for both commercial and residential development, subject to a title deed condition that the property must be improved within a certain period or the properties would revert back to the municipality. 

Only 53% of wage earners think their place of work helps their productivity.
