Malls prepared for the festive season

As the 2013 festive season fast approaches, and malls across the country experience higher foot traffic, so too do many operational demands to ensure the safety and enjoyment of all shoppers.

The South African Council of Shopping Centres (SACSC) recently announced its 2013 Pioneer and Lifetime Achievement Awards 2013, which recognise exceptional contribution to the retail real estate sector for the nation.

Newcastle Mall triumphed to win the sought-after Spectrum Award for the best overall development in 2013 in the South African Council of Shopping Centre's (SACSC) Retail Development and Design Awards (RDDA) 2013.

A significant collaboration and cooperation agreement will see South Africa’s shopping centre and retail industry gain greater access to global insights and resources. It will also open up local shopping to the world.

While speakers from around the world will share insight into global retail innovation at the 17th annual Congress of the South African Council of Shopping Centres (SACSC) this week, some of the most inspiring retail success stories will come from right here in South Africa.

New and existing shopping centres will have the chance to prove their worth, and success, in the annual Retail Design and Development Awards (RDDA).

If only 18% of South Africans own a computer then how come one in three has access to the Internet?
