Building on their relationship with retail developers, Nedbank Corporate Property Finance has been selected to fund a further Retail Africa project, this time in Hartebeespoort
The R150 million retail centre will be situated in Schoemansville, the village that serves the Hartebeespoort Dam area, where holiday, retirement and commuter home development has experienced tremendous growth in the past ten years.

Richard Edwards, manager for New Business at Nedbank Corporate Property Finance says: “As always Retail Africa has come up with an attractive and appropriate design, one which makes good use of natural materials and fits harmoniously into the bushveld scene. Boogertman & Partners’ designs will ensure this becomes the area’s premier shopping outlet. It will have both inward and outward facing shops and attractive sun screening.”

The centre will have a 15 000m2 floor area and will be anchored by three national chains: a 2 250m2 Checkers store, a 2 517m2 Woolworths and a 1 442m2 Mica outlet.

The tenant mix will include major and national retailers such as Checkers, Woolworths, Mr Price Weekend, Jet, Truworths, Foschini, Markhams, Sportscene, American Swiss, C.N.A, Clicks, Musica, Mica, Nando’s, McDonalds, News Café, Doppio O, Braza and Mug and Bean.

Construction at Schoemansville is due to commence soon and is scheduled to open in October 2008.

The site also has the potential for further development, which may include a petrol station and a fast food outlet.
