The custom-built, state of the art facility is being developed across the Century Boulevard from the recently built Colosseum development.
The new club, being developed at a cost of more than R60m and constructed by Stabilid, is due to open its doors in October this year.
Greg Deans, a Rabie Property Group director, says that one of the most frequently asked questions by stakeholders at Century City was when a health club would be developed.
“A number of the residential and commercial developments at Century City do have their own boutique gyms.
“However, it has become abundantly clear that a health club environment as offered by Virgin Active is fulfilling a major component of the third dimension (leisure activities) in people’s lives,” Deans says.
He says there are more than 35000 people living and working in Century City, so there will be strong support for the new gym.
